New recruits at EOS
EOS Limited, an innovative manufacturer of modular buildings, has further strengthened the business with several key staff appointments.
Alan Bowman, from Sunderland, has been recruited as commercial manager, to help drive the business forward.
The 55-year-old, who comes from a surveying background, has extensive experience having worked in both a public and private sector environment.
With a masters degree in computing and qualifications in business systems analysis, he has worked for a wide range of companies from national contractors to development companies to local authorities.
Another new face at EOS, of Newton Aycliffe, is Gemma Yerrel, of Bishop Auckland, who has been appointed sales co-ordinator looking after the office and customer relations management systems.
The third new member of staff is trainee draughtsman Owen Reed, 20, of Hartlepool, who has a national diploma in 3-D design and a City & Guilds in auto-CAD (computer aided design).
EOS director Michael O’Connell said: "Recruiting quality staff is vital to the future growth of EOS. By employing the right people and, particularly in the case of Owen, helping develop young talent will all play a crucial part in pushing our ambitious plans forward."
EOS recently revealed it was moving in to a new market, which has the potential to double its workforce and add £3m to its turnover.
It has created a two storey house which takes only six weeks to construct at its County Durham factory and two days to erect on site.
While the new design has secured orders from the leisure industry, Mr O’Connell believes it has the potential to ease the shortage of low-cost social housing.
EOS designs and manufactures light gauge steel framing systems for the European construction industry and its areas of expertise include social and private housing, commercial buildings, student accommodation, schools, and healthcare schemes.
